Definitely prefer the Shrewsbury Petco over this.
He was told on the phone that in store snakes are all male, always. They only had females.
Boyfriend went to get a ball python, after having years of experience handling various reptiles just like me. He went to go pick out the python he wanted and the staff kept telling him that the space he prepared for the snake was all wrong and that he had to do exactly what they said, basically. Despite him doing his thorough research coupled with years of reptilian experience. Kept on telling him that he needed experience to get the python he wanted and that he needed a vet (which we do, having various other animals in house), and he ended up being given a different python.
Petsmart of Millbury ma is understaffed and the older large woman is rude and less than helpful. It seemed that my presence was a burden to her because she had to bag crickets and a couple of lizards and frogs. Thats her job, right? I actually had to start bagging my own crickets because it was the only way to get them over to me after several requests for service. When they say someone's coming to help you, its quicker to just start doing it yourself. It seems like the only way to get enough attention to get them to do their job. There are good people working, just dont go on a Saturday morning. This is not my only bad experience there. It goes back 2 or 3 years. Unfortunately, petco is not much better...but it is better. I would have given 1 star but they get 2 for being clean.
Animals may not be healthy. Bought a Bearded Dragon in August. Pinworms, Coccidia, and Gout, which is very rare for a juvenile bearded dragon. I would recommend if you do get one, bring to a reptile vet ASAP for a well visit, but alternatively, purchase your pets through a breeder or a rescue adoption. Dinkys reptiles and aquatics breeds most of their own and I wish we had known and purchased from him.
It really is a one stop shop for all pet needs. Groomer, Vet, shopping and adoption.
Staff didn't acknowledge me. Place was pretty clean and had a decent selection.
